In the previous century, Wouter Nijhoff and Maria-Elisabeth Kronenberg published a bibliography of all works printed in the Low Countries from 1500 to 1540. As a result, we have a complete overview of Dutch books from that period and we can determine how rare they are. Only one copy of this devotional book by Leuven theologian Godschalc Rosemondt has been preserved. This is surprising, considering the fact that it was printed in a large number of copies.

Godschalc Rosemondt, Boecxken voor die ellendighe sielkens. Antwerpen, Michiel Hillen van Hoochstraten, ca. 1517. Gent, Universiteitsbibliotheek: BHSL.RES.1225. NK 1818.
