The Devil Himself: Criticism of Luther

No votes yet

Although many of Luther’s texts were printed in Antwerp, the city also experienced resistance against his ideas. A well-known opponent was the poet Anna Bijns (1493-1575). According to her, Luther was the devil incarnate. In this book she attacked him fiercely. Strikingly, this text was printed by Willem Vorsterman, who also published some works of Luther, including a translation for the Danish market.
